William Welsh, born September 2, 1807, was the son of John Welsh and Jemima Maris, and was a brother of John Welsh, my great-great-grandfather, who lived from 1805 to 1886. In 1833 he married Mary Ross Newbold. He was a successful merchant in business with his brothers John and Samuel, and died February 11, 1877.
